Prayer as a way of life   For our Holy Mother and model St Teresa of Avila, prayer is a way of life, and our daily schedule is enlivened by this theme. Our simple daily schedule works for a day of communal and personal prayer that allows time for work, as assigned to each of the nuns, as well as retreat and rest within the personal cell of each nun. Because ours in an ageing community, some adjustments were made to allow for a more suitable life-style.    

5.30 a.m. Rising
5.50 a.m. Angelus  and Morning prayers
6.15 a.m. An hour of mental prayer (personal quiet time with the Lord)
7.15 a.m. Holy Mass at our Chapel (the public may attend) Immediately followed by silent thanksgiving for the gift of Holy Communion
followed by Mid-Morning prayers
followed by Breakfast
followed by Time for daily work
12.15 p.m. Midday prayers
12.30pm Lunch at the Refectory
followed by Community Recreation
1.45 p.m. Resting time in the nuns’ cell
3.15 p.m. Mid Afternoon prayers
3.30 pm One hour spiritual reading
4.30 p.m. Time for daily work
5.45 p.m. Evening prayers
6.00 p.m. An hour of mental prayer (personal quiet time with the Lord)
7.00 p.m. Supper in the Refectory
followed by Community Recreation
8.30 p.m. Rosary, compline and Office of Readings
followed by Small spiritual reflection
followed by Blessing by the Prioress
followed by Retirement in the cell for the night’s rest
